The Brimine BIPOC Youth Bursary was created by a former-Bathurst High School student, Brianna Parent Long, in hopes of recognizing the accomplishments of Black, Indigenous and people of colour. This bursary came from a recognition of the unique challenges BIPOC youth experience in rural areas. This bursary aims to provide two (2) BIPOC youth at Bathurst High School who are pursuing post-secondary education in the fall. Each bursary is valued at $250. Applicants must show financial need and a desire to build a more inclusive, anti-racist, and de-colonial world.
